What a Celebration!

This week JR and I celebrated our birthdays! I turned 24 and he turned 26! Man I feel like I'm getting old. This week was extra special because JR had the entire week off from school, giving us time to actually go out and do some fun things. We definitely took advantage of his time off and had something going on almost every day of the week. Monday we went out to dinner at Behihanas and then headed over to meet up with some friends at a Go Kart racing place. JR got to do a few races with the guys while I hung out with the girls. Tuesday was our actual birthdays and what an amazing day it was!!! When I got to work my co-workers sang to me as I was walking in and as I walked into my office I was greeted by balloons and flowers, then to top it all off they treated me to lunch! I work with some great people! After work JR and I headed over to Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa and just relaxed! I've never been to a spa like that before...so relaxing! We could have stayed there all day! We both enjoyed the mud/clay bath. We both have never had mud rubbed all over us but we enjoyed it!

Baby Update! So I'm now 25 weeks along and I'm doing great! I feel tons of movement and am still growing! lol It's crazy how all of the sudden I just kinda popped. I'm loving every minute of being pregnant and experiencing the joys of having our little girl growing inside me. I can't wait to see her little face!

All Things Girly!

It's confirmed...we have having a GIRL!!! JR and I went this past Saturday to Loma Linda Hospital and our friend Jeremy(thanks Jeremy!) did a 4D ultrasound on me. I really wanted to get a second Ultrasound because our first one was little unclear to me...not to JR though. I've been trying not to get too excited about having a girl until I knew for sure and now that I got this second scan I am so EXCITED! I told JR I didn't care what are first child was, but that I would be really sad if we didn't have at least one girl. Now I can let that little worry go!!! It was so neat seeing her move around inside of me. It looked like she was smiling the whole entire scan. I got to see her tiny little fingers and her cute lips!!! This whole pregnancy has been a great experience! I'm really trying to treasure those little moments throughout the pregnancy. Moments like when JR comes up and kisses my stomach...I love that!!!! I started to feel our little girl moving inside me last week. I'm pretty sure they are little kicks that I'm feeling. I'm in my 20th week right now and I've gained a total of about 5 or 6 pounds. Here comes the beginning of the weight gain. I still fit into most of my clothes, a have a pair of slacks that I can only button one button and a few jeans that are getting a little snug! No cravings yet and yes I'm taking some awesome naps. Last week I took two naps that were two hours long!!!..my longest nap ever! Here is a picture of our little girl!

Isn't she beautiful? :0) And here is a picture of myself growing larger with each day that passes!

Exciting Times are Ahead of us!

JR and I are excited to announce that we are going to be having a baby! My due date is January 15th! I am in my thirteenth week of pregnancy and have already heard the baby's heartbeat. So here is the story behind it all. When We got married JR and I decided that we wanted to make sure that we had enough time to ourselves before we started our family....well a few months ago we both started getting feelings like maybe we should start this family of ours....BUT...we put those feelings off for a few months. Well 3 months ago we felt that we should "try" and that was the month that I got pregnant! Things have been going pretty good so far. I didn't start feeling sick until I hit my 7 week mark, it was one of our last days in Hawaii and I just felt so gross( and I thought I was going to be lucky enough to just pass on the feeling sick part...boy was I wrong! ;0) So, somethings have I have been experiencing are nausea( all day but no vomit) and I'm super sensitive to smells. I get so grossed out over smells and food just hasn't tasted the same( which sucks because I love food!) I am happy to say though that I "think" things are starting to get better. I still feel nauseous on and off throughout the day but at least I'm kinda getting my appetite back. I still feel tired and but not like in the very beginning, I was sleeping all the time :) No weight gain yet but I'm sure it is on it's way :( JR has been really great about everything and impresses me everyday. He'll do the dishes if I haven't gotten around to it, help clean up our place, and doesn't complain that I haven't been cooking as much as I used too. I haven't really had any cravings at all. I eat lots of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches though, not because I'm craving them, they just don't gross me out.

Aloha

This last week JR and I decided to a trip to Hawaii. It was kinda last minute...well REALLY last minute,we booked our tickets Friday night and left LAX early Monday morning. We wanted to take a trip somewhere before JR started clinicals' and his schedule got to crazy. We figured if we didn't go now we wouldn't be able to go until next summer( and who knows if that would even be possible?). I started getting everything packed and ready to go, basically done, then I find out that just last month the airline that we are flying on started to charge a fee to check a bag! Shoot now what? hhmmmmmm Well I don't want to spend more $ on a bag when we can use that money towards activities while we are in Hawaii. Down sizing is my choice. With that being said I only packed 4 outfits for both of us...we stayed for an entire week! Mission accomplishment, only carry-ons and no extra fees woo hoo! We had a great time in Oahu and very much enjoyed our tropical surroundings! It took me a few days to adjust to the humidity...yep don't like feeling sticky. We did lots of sight seeing, our first day there we checked out Pearl Harbor. It's crazy to think that at one point in time history was made in that very area we were standing! Our next adventure was PCC and the temple. My favorite village hands down was the Samoan one, next was Tonga! We didn't get to do a temple session though because the temple was closed, but we did get to enjoy the grounds and the visitors center. JR and I really enjoy snorkeling so we went snorkeling a few times on our trip. One of the highlights on our vacation was when we went up to a beach in the north shore. We saw this area with snorkelers and thought we might as well check it out also. Talk about seeing tons of fish!!! There were so many different types of fish in bright colors. We saw some squid and... drum roll please....SEA TURTLES! It was so crazy these huge turtles were swimming right along side us. They swam so graceful! Honestly that was one of my favorite times in Hawaii. JR even grabbed on to one and rode it...I know, we decided know that was illegal until we got home...oopppss! Some other things we did was the worlds largest human maze, spent lots of time on the beaches, got shaved ice(so good), met a cool Brazilian couple, and did some shopping. It was a much needed vacation and was so relaxing! It was funny because we came up with a list of ideas of things to do while in Oahu but only did about half of them! We just did what we wanted when we wanted. I didn't carry me phone on me the whole entire trip! I think a week was perfect and I can't wait to see where we go on our next vacation!, though it won't be for a long time :). Here are a few pictures of our little adventure:

It's been a while, I know!

So a lot has happened since I lasted posted. Here is a little catch up on what we've been up to. We got a NEW car(new to us)! JR's car was giving us a lot of problems so we decided to get rid of it before it gave way. It's important that he doesn't miss any of his classes and we were afraid that one day his car just wouldn't start up and he would miss class. We love it! Here she is:

Speaking of classes JR started an accelerated Respiratory Therapy program in Rancho. It's a private school so it kinda cost a lot but to us it's worth the money spent. He'll be done in 18 months and then he'll work for a little while before he goes back to school. He it currently still working about 32 hours a week and then goes to school 4 days a week. I am so proud of his hard work and dedication!

Poor Mans Hawaii

This has been something JR and I have wanted to do for sometime now and we finally did it! This past weekend we went to Catalina! We got up at 4 in the morning to get to long beach by 6. Talk about an early start! We went on the first boat out because we wanted to make the most of our day there. Originally we were thinking about staying the night there but things came up and we decided just to make a day trip out of it! On the boat ride over I couldn't sleep, I was too excited. We saw seals in the ocean and there were tons of little dolphins jumping out of the water. Nature is a beautiful thing! Upon arrival we set out for a nice walk around part of Catalina, after our little walk/exploration we eat breakfast at this restaurant that was literally across from the ocean. Seriously there wasn't even a window. We were completely stuffed from breakfast so we checked out the shops and a street fair that was going on. From there we went snorkeling. The water was so clear and there was plenty of fish to see! It was cool though because we met this guy who was snorkeling also and shared some of his fish food with us and showed us how to feed the fish. Those crazy little fish went wild over that food. I was surrounded by fish within a couple of seconds. I tired grabbing them, but freaked out once I felt their slimy bodies. From snorkeling we headed to this little beach and fell asleep in the shade. I loved taking a nap with JR with waves in the background! Once we woke up we rented a kayak for an hour. I was excited because I've never kayaked before! We ended up snorkeling one more time, and this time we saw a stingray! I can't believe how amazing the ocean is, what a whole new world it is down there! We wanted to go on a hike before it got dark so we headed out on this small trail( We saw a Deer with her baby)and we met this couple who offered to take us around town/trails on their rented golf cart...so we spent about an hour with them. It worked out great because we wanted to rent one, but they were kind of expensive, plus we met some very nice people. Wow this is getting to be longer then I thought it would be! :) Anyways to make a long story short, we went out to eat for dinner, brought a small souvenir and then waited for our boat to arrive at 9:45pm. While waiting for our boat we saw a flying fish! I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my day!

August Happenings

Wow a lot has happened in august! I started up work again in the the beginning of the month. School started early for our district... talk about a short summer. For those of you who don't know, As of last Sunday I became our wards new Young Women's president! I thought our bishop was joking when he asked me(turns out he wasn't!) :) I'll admit it really caught me off guard. I'm am excited about my new calling and hope that I might influence the girls in our ward. I've been really busy with my calling. We are planning like crazy, our goal is to plan our activities for the rest of the year this week. JR has been preparing to put in his next rounds of applications and still trying to find another job. Hopefully this round will be better! We have looked at a ton of houses, but no luck. We aren't in a hurry to get a house, but if we find something nice in our range we will try and take advantage of it. We actually put in two offers but were out bidded. Oh well I guess it wasn't meant to be. I've had tons of family come down in august. My cousin came down from Idaho and we camped out in San Onfre, then spent the following day in Laguna Beach. That was a lot of fun! My sister Serena and her family came down from Utah and we got to spend time with them swimming and hanging out. lastly my good friend Vanessa(back from young women's) came down with her husband from Utah. She invited JR and I to the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. We enjoyed watching the magic shows and trying to figure out the tricks of the magicians. JR was a lot better at that then I was. It was cool because Vanessa's dad has performed at the Magic Castle for over 3o years. He is the ghost that plays the piano. He showed us behind the scenes and gave a brief tour/history of the Magic Castle. We got to see private rooms where the guest with money eat! While in line Rick Fox was right in front of us ( He used to play for the Lakers). Over all August was packed with fun activities and outings.
Here we are at Laguna Beach
